Introduction
Texas Integrated Justice Information Systems (TIJIS) is a state and local justice information user group, led by organizations and individuals who are committed to achieving appropriate integration and exchange of justice system data.
Members represent counties and county-support organizations, local and state law enforcement, corrections, and the judicial branch.
Current TIJIS efforts focus on pen packets, DPS and TDCJ data. TDCJ is implementing the ability to receive the Texas Path to NIEM Pen Packet schemas for an electronic pen packet. TDCJ is currently working with Tarrant County for a pilot on the electronic Indictment. The courts initiatives include focusing on e-Filing and the need to expand data exchanges. Future applications should include courts exchanging data with OAG (child support) and HHSC agencies (e.g., child protection).
